I am one of Directors of Estafest CIC, a volunteer and the event manager for EstaFest.
I have lived in March for 17 years and I have to say I love our little town. I get a buzz from the Passion people have in supporting our towns wonderful events, local charities and businesses.
I started the idea of EstaFest because I wanted to give back to the local community and support local, hopefully by making the event affordable it can include all of March folk.
I have worked hard all my adult life to achieve my dreams and in 2022 I set up my own business in March.
I am the very proud owner of Cole’s kitchen and Coles sandwich bar which the local community has supported, it only seemed fair to give back hence the birth of EstaFest.
I am the chair of the EstaFest 2024 event, I am also one of the directors of EstaFest CIC.
I am the owner of Darren Biggs Electrical Services, and I retired from being a Retained Firefighter at March with Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service after 31 years. As a firefighter I was involved in a number of different communities events.
When I was asked to get involved it was a no brainier as everything was geared to helping The community of March and surrounding areas.
I spent my life growing up in March, before moving abroad for work in my 20’s, and then moving back to bring up my son (now 16), March is a great family orientated town which we all should be proud of, my close family (mum, dad & sister) also live in March.
I come from a diverse employment background which gives me a wide skill set which I thought could help and assist the committee where needed. Some of my previous jobs include Holiday Rep, IT & Telecoms, Renewable Energy, Residential & Holiday Lets to name just a few! I have been involved in all aspects from Finance, Marketing and Sales Admin, I currently work as a Corporate Real Estate Manager for a global finance organization.
I have keen interest in Charities and not-for-profit organizations after previously working for the Co-operative as Membership Manager.
I decided to get involved in EstaFest when I saw a post on Facebook asking for volunteers, and I thought why not, it looks and sounds great! The committee is amazing, and we all have the same ethos.
I am the husband to Emma Cole. It was our bright idea to start EstaFest as a way to give back to our local community.
I grew up in Downham Market before moving to Portsmouth to study interior design. At 25 years old, I decided to retrain in horticulture where many opportunities opened up for me. For the past 15 plus years, I've worked in countryside management and currently work as a land drainage operative. I also co-own Coles Catering Services with my wife and support her in any way possible.
I love being outdoors, and I was a bit of an old-school raver before life made me grow up, so organising a festival is right up my street.
My role at EstaFest 2024 is Site Coordinator. My job is to support the daily running of the event over the two days. I will predominantly be behind the scenes solving any issues if they arise. Therefore, if you see me crying in the corner somewhere, please hand me a cider, give me a pat on the back, and tell me it will be fine.
